What is literature?
Literature is an account of human experiences and at the same time, the realization of people's creativity. We use it as an expression of our wisdom, feelings, dreams, and desires. Every emotion that we feel, we put into words, down on a paper, and into another person's heart. Not only does it entertain, but in a way it also educates. Other pieces of literature, especially those included in the Classical Era, are didactic. Our learned experiences, when shared, become bases for other people's judgments and actions. Have you ever tried consulting forms of literature whenever faced with trials?
I myself am guilty of that. When depression sinks deeper, I take comfort in reading books and relating myself to the protagonist, or to some character whom I think resembles me. By escaping reality for a while and feeling the action of the story, it seems as though I get enough endorphins and positive outlook to rejuvenate my spirit.ΓΌ
Literature can also be described as history in an embellished language. Many of us may notice that written texts epitomize our way of life. Because of this, literature transcends time. People in different eras more or less share the same ordeals; hence it can be said that humans have the ability to relate to each other, regardless of the timeline difference. (:
